The great depression continued, the slums were overcrowded, unemployment is at its highest with riots due to political agitation but it matters not to the socialites. The year previous, 1936, the year of the abdication in Britain, Jesse Owens had dominated the Olympics in Berlin defying Hitler’s claims of the Aryan super race. Germany’s Hitler, Italy’s Mussolini and Japan created an alliance and Crystal Palace had burned to the ground, idealistic young Englishmen and women travelled to Spain to fight against Franco in the Spanish Civil war. India was in revolt. Something in the air was changing in Europe and across the world but for the socialites it mattered not. The beating of the war drums were not to be heard as they boarded The Queen Mary as she began atlantic crossings, travel and adventure was the course of the day, The Murdér Express was busier than ever bringing those hungry for glitz, glamour, fine dining and adventure between London and the Southern French town of Murdér. On this day, 1937, The Murdér Express had a new spectacle to behold. The Jewel of the Empire. The largest cut Diamond ever discovered. The Von Cleethorpes family, the wealthy oligarchs announced the news via a BBC Television and Radio Broadcast in the new year and that to celebrate the news they would put it on display on The Murdér Express as they move it to The Von Cleethorpes Estate in the South of France. , their favourite way to travel to the South of France. For the main event The Von Cleethorpes have sent one of their distant family members, Vera Valentine to represent them for the trip which against all advice they insist on moving forward with. What could possibly go wrong!

"Your role as Duty Manager means that you are responsible for the management of the show, front of house team, actors and guest experience. If you are a temporary Duty Manager with us there will be a full time manager onsite who will take unltimate responsibility for the venue.
You must:
- Ensure that you have checked in with your team before the day to ensure you have a team in place
- Ensure venue is clean and ready to go
- Ensure team are briefed, uniform checked and ready to go in plenty time in advance of doors opening
- Stage Manage the event - ensure the event goes according to the times that are scheduled - Customers are expecting a 2 Hour experience and have paid for this so they must get that
- Ensure any customer issues are dealt with before they leave the venue

You must be courteous and polite with guests and fellow team members. You must familiarise yourself with the menu and any allergen information as well as ensure you take a proactive approach to ensuring you adhere to Health & Safety procedures at work.
